Daniel L. Franke, 72, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at home. He was born on Aug. 7, 1941, in Indianapolis the son of Gilbert L. and Mary (Ostermeier) Franke.
He graduated from Warren Central High School in 1959. He married Anna L. (Rouse) Franke on Jan. 21, 1966.
He worked for Harvest Land CO-OP in Greenfield for 42 years before retiring in 2004. Daniel was a member of the Greenfield Optimist Club as well as St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cumberland. Mr. Franke was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at Kentucky Lake.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Tammy) Franke of Greenwood, Gregg (June) Franke of McCordsville; brother, Thomas (Mary) Franke of Morristown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his loving wife, Anna.
Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. also at the mortuary. Pastor James Farrar will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cumberland.
