Rebecca Ann (Pate) Sgro, 64, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 in Indianapolis. She was born on May 3, 1949, in El Dorado, Ark., as the daughter of Hubert Roscoe and Stella (Parr) Pate.
Rebecca graduated from Smackover High School in Smackover, Ark., in 1967. In 1968, she received her license from an Indianapolis Beauty College.
She worked for Big League Barber in Indianapolis as a Hairdresser for many years. Rebecca has been a Hairdresser for 45 years and was the former owner of Salon Petite. She attended Brookville Road Community Church. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank Sgro of Bokeelia, Fla.; daughter, Robin Henry of New Palestine; siblings, Shirley (Omar) Owens of Ark., Mary (Don) Wester of Texas, Dovie (Jimmy) Jones of Ark., Tressie (David) Mitchell of Ark., Wiley Pate of Ark.; and three grandchildren, Tr?, Dominic, and Thomas of New Palestine.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sarah “Dee” Morton and Frances Winter; and infant daughter, Dominica Sgro.
A Memorial Calling will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
