J. Mark Harrison, 64, of Springfield, died on Friday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2013, at his home. Mark was born Oct. 7, 1949, in Shelbyville, Ind., the son of Clay and Dorothea Hudson Harrison. He married Elizabeth A. Marinello on Oct. 17, 1982, in Wheaton.

Mark was a 1968 graduate of Greenfield High School, and received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Ball State University in 1972. He worked for the Home Builders Association of Illinois as the Executive Vice President from 1990-2008, and also for Northern Illinois Home Builders Association from 1980-1990, and he was the Executive V.P. for Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis from 1973-1980. He was the President of the Executive Officers Council of the National Home Builders Association, and received the Seldon Hale Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in 2008. Mark enjoyed stained glass, golf, fishing, and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Liz Harrison of Springfield; one son, Christopher (girlfriend, Mary Winland)  Harrison of Lovell, Wyo., three daughters, Jennifer (Richard) Sexton of Auburn, Lacey and Maggie Harrison, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Landon and Jacob Hill, Mitchell Sexton, Haley and Sara Harrison; three brothers, Danny (Pam), Tom (Cheryl) and Jack (girlfriend, Marty Welter) Harrison, all of Greenfield, Ind.; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev. John Davis officiating.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
