Darlene Smith, 72, Greenfield, passed away Sept. 9, 2013.  She was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Indianapolis, to the late Herman L. Snyder and Beatrice L. (Wood) Snyder.

Darlene graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1958.  She worked in management with Indiana Bell/Ameritech for 28 years, retiring in 1992. Darlene was a member and a past President of the American Business Women’s Association, Telephone Pioneers, Job’s Daughters of the O. E. S. and participated in the yearly Relay For Life as a cancer survivor.

Darlene is survived by her mother; daughter, Jennifer (Henri) Hoffman of Greenfield; son, Benjamin (Jo Anna) Smith of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kayleigh and Melissa Hoffman, and Morgan, Taylor, and Logan Smith; sisters, Kathy (Bruce) Wiebell of Martinsville and Shirley Knapp of Georgetown, Texas.
