William R. “Smitty” Smith, 69, of Princeton, LA, formerly of Greenfield, died at his home on Aug. 16, 2013, after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 14, 1944, in Indianapolis.
He was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah H. Smith of La.; son, Kevin S. (Tammy) Smith of Mo.; step-sons, Fred (Jenea) Raley and Stephen (Rachael) Raley, both of La.; step-brothers, Bob Perew and John Perew, both of Greenfield; 2 aunts; 2 uncles; 5 grandchildren; 4 stepgrandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew; 1 niece; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy J. Smith; mother, Margie Christine (Smith) Perew; stepfather, Robert Perew; brother, Robert E. Smith, Sr.; sister, Margie Carolyn Smith; and 1 niece.
Arrangements were handled by Auld’s Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cowboy Church in Princeton, LA at a later date.
