James “Jim” Joseph Mitchum II
James “Jim” Joseph Mitchum II, 90, of New Palestine, died Monday, August 12, 2013. Born on May 16, 1923, Jim was the only child of James Joseph Mitchum I and Gertrude (Reimer) Mitchum.
Surviving James are his sons, James Joseph III (Kathleen) Mitchum and William (Beth) Mitchum both of New Palestine; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, on March 1, 2013.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 W. 300 S., New Palestine. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. Pastor Jason Taylor will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting all memorials be directed to the New Land Fund of Zion Lutheran Church.
