Garland L. Witsman, 76, of McCordsville, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, after a short illness. He was born on May 18, 1937, in Knox County, Ind. as the son of Charles A. and Helen Marie (Davis) Witsman.

Garland served his country in the Army.  He married Norma J. Phillips on December 11, 1964, in St. Louis, Mo.

Surviving him are his wife, Norma Witsman of McCordsville; daughter, Christina Marie (Robby Layman) Myers of Fortville; son, Mark Justin (Catherine) Witsman of McCordsville; three grandchildren; two sisters, Joy Dismang of Pacific, Mo. and Glenna Johnson of Jack, Ala.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Marie Witsman; and his sister, Charlena Marie Malone.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 17, 2013, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. A funeral service will be held directly following the visiting hours, beginning at 2 p.m.  Pastor Russ Jarvis will be officiating.
