Marilou (Simmons) Holliday, 72, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Kindred Healthcare in Greenwood. Born on Feb. 8, 1941, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Charles Edwin and Betty Lou (Overman) Simmons.

She graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1958 and attended Ball State University. Marilou married Paul Holliday, Jr. on Jan. 22, 1961, at Charlottesville Methodist Church.

She was an Administrative Assistant for Eastern Hancock School Corporation for 40 years before retiring. She was also a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist for over 20 years, and a member of Vineyard Community Church in Greenwood. Marilou enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandkids; going shopping; and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed card club, crossword puzzles, and watching sports, especially I.U. basketball, Colts, and Pacers.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (David) Bricker of Greenwood; sister, Donna (Don) Coffey of Greenwood; daughter-in-law, Marla (Kevin) Pace of Southport; grandchildren, Brooke (Andy) Huth of Indianapolis, Justin (Elizabeth) Holliday of Indianapolis, Brittany Bradley of Columbus, Ohio, and Benjamin Holliday of Southport; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jackson, and a new addition soon to arrive; stepsisters, Marge (Dave) Day of Rensselaer and Diane El-Shafey of Virginia; and 19 nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and son, Kent Holliday.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m., on Friday, May 10, 2013,  at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory in Greenfield. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
