Nevada G. Shipley, of Fortville, passed away May 3, 2013, at Rawlins House in Pendleton. She was born June 16, 1924, in Roan Mountain, Tenn., to the late James Willard and Nola (Little) Cates.
She was a member of the Fortville Christian Church and retired from the former Western Electric Plant in Indianapolis.
She is survived by her son, John D. (Regina) Shipley of Fortville; grandchildren, Tammy (Kent) Steward of Pittsboro and John E. Shipley of Fortville; sisters, Edna Williams and Ruby Whitehead both of Tenn.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
In accordance to her wishes there will be no services for Nevada. Cremation will take place and she will be interred in Holly Hill Cemetery in Roan Mountain, Tenn.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Riley Hospital for Children Foundation.
