John A. Evitt, 53 of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. He was born July 4, 1959, in Greenfield, to the late Bernard and Alice (Makosky) Evitt.
John was a 1977 graduate of Greenfield Central High School. He married Debbie (Hess) Evitt on June 4, 1978. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed mentoring for other Boy Scouts. John was owner and auto mechanic for Evitt’s Auto Repair, Greenfield and a member of Greenfield Church of Christ.
John is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Brian (Cindy) Evitt of Willow Branch; daughter, April (Brian) Cole of Wilkinson; grandchildren, Estella and Vivica Evitt and Brady Lee Cole; brother, Edward Evitt of Markleville; sister, Mary Joyce (Steve) Mosley of Cicero; stepmother, Kay (Keith) Witham of Wilkinson; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas Evitt.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., on Monday, April 29, 2013, at the funeral home. Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
