Garnet V. Bower
Garnet V. Bower, 86, of Fortville, passed away on March 11, 2013. She was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Orlando, Fla. to John and Bessie Tullis Allen.
She graduated from Fortville High School in 1945, and went to work for Heches, followed by M& M Manufacturing. She retired in 1989 after 25 years from Abrasive Products. She was a member of the Fortville Christian Church, Red Hat Society, and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority since 1946.
Garnet is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Lewis Bower; daughters Cindy Harrison (Don), Lisa Hunt (friend Mike); step daughters Ruth Plamandon, and Taffy Ergle (Bill); grandchildren Stacy Holliday, Shawna Montgomery, Adam White, Brittani Abel, Cory Horseman; step grandchildren Jodi, Janelle, David, Shawna; great-grandchildren Andrew, Cassadi, Brad, Brynn and Ava.
She is preceded in death by her stepdaughter Becky Bower.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday March 14 at Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 9288 W. 1025 S. Fortville, Ind. The Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel. Services entrusted to Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary.
