Frederick “Rick” Russell Jessup, 66, a resident of Celina, Tenn., formerly of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Cumberland River Hospital, Celina, Tenn.

He was born Dec. 5, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Herbert E. and Ella LaVerne (Shenks) Holden. He was raised by his mother & late step-father Paul Holden.

He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1966, served in the US Marine Corps. from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War, retired from sales in 2009, was a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church and the American Legion of Celina, Tenn.,  He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, the FOP and the Moose Lodge all of Greenfield.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Ann (Griffiths) Jessup of Celina, Tenn., whom he married on March 12, 1971; sons, Frederick “Rick” R. Jessup, II of Indianapolis, Lance D. (Reanna) Jessup of Pendleton, brothers, Bryon (Theresa) Holden of Springlake, Ind., David E. (Beverley) Holden of Mission, Texas; sisters, Sue (Tom) Neylon of Philadelphia, Ind., Paula Fawver of Cumberland, Ind.; grandchildren, Andrew, Hunter, Adelynn and Harrison Jessup.

Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Judy officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard.
