Lois Laverne (Querry) Whitaker, R.R.T, 67, went home to Jesus on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013. Born on July 5, 1945, in Michigan, she was the daughter of Lonzo Leroy and Lavana G. (Trowbridge) Querry.
She attended Greenfield High School and earned her radiology technician certification from Hancock Memorial Hospital. Lois married Ronald Leo Whitaker on Dec. 1, 1961.
Lois worked for Hancock Memorial Hospital as a radiology technician for 28 years. She was a member of Brandywine Community Church, were she participated in Needles of Faith and Chloe Ministry. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, the beach, and spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving her are her daughters, Kelly (Tony) Mills of Noblesville, Kris (Eric) Spicer of Greenfield, and Stacie (James) Ahrendt of Greenfield; sister, Linda (Donald) Edwards of Greenfield; 9 grandchildren, Kyle, Laura and Alyssa Mills, Nichole, Sarah and Ronnie Fields, Ryan (Samantha) Allison, Matthew (Rachel) Allison, and Samuel Spicer; and 4 great-grandchilren, Leo Allison, Kaitlyn, Kirsten, and Marcus.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ronald Whitaker; granddaughter, Chloe Brattain; and daughters, Karri Fields and Stephanie Whitaker.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Brandywine Community Church, funeral services will immediately follow. Pastor Matt Wickham will be officiating.
