Clara “Alice” Fout, 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Jan. 22, 2013, at her home in Greenfield.  Born on July 3, 1931, in Lakin, Kan., she was the daughter of Arthur Raymond and Carrie Aletta (Blair) Withers.

Alice graduated from Fullerton High School in California and married William “Bill” Edward Fout on Oct. 29, 1955, in Greenfield. She worked as a homemaker. Alice attended Fountaintown Christian Church. She was a very dedicated church-goer who loved going to revivals and church functions.  She also enjoyed traveling and visiting her family.

Surviving her are her children, Edward Ray Fout of Fountaintown, Elizabeth Fay (Richard) Ferguson of Greenfield, Bryan James (Joan Moseman) Fout of Lake Elmo, Minn., and Amelia Ann Cuda of Detroit, Mch.; grandchild, Stephanie Rene (Kenneth) Fout Reeves of Greenfield; great-grandchildren, Keanu and Stephen; sister, Ava Wadholm of Sylmar, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; step-mother, Emma Anna (Barnes) Withers; and sisters, Evelyn McCabe, Dorothy Brokke, and Effie May Withers.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the mortuary. Pastor Michael Smith will be officiating and burial will take place at Fountaintown Cemetery.
