Elaine R. LaMore, 89, of Shelby, Mich. (mother of Lynda Bostic of Greenfield), passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Hart, Mich. She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of Walter and Katherine (Preisinger) Buffington.
Mrs. LaMore came to Shelby with her family in 1933. She was a 1942 graduate of Shelby High School. She lived in Twin Lake before moving to Hesperia in 1968. She returned to Shelby in 1973. Later, she lived in Stevensville and Sodus before returning to Shelby once again.
Mrs. LaMore enjoyed her flower gardens, painting, crocheting and baking apple pies. Her dog Angel, brought her much happiness. Her husbands, Arnold LaMore, Clarence James and George Arnold, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Lynda (Don) Bostic, Denise James-LaMore, Bruce James and Bryan James; her grandchildren, Michael Hord, Wendy (Brad) Ehle, Christina (Jimmy) Parker, Ashley Hoekenga, Leah Hoekenga, Tara (Cheo) Gonzalez, Kevin (Aimee) James, Joshua James; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her son, David Walter James.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m., at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby, Mich.
