Oscar Frank Charles Roesener, 95, of New Palestine, passed away at Hancock Regional Hospice on Dec. 30, 2012. He had been a resident of Golden Living Brandywine since August 2012. He was born March 1, 1917, in New Palestine to Edward Anton and Hilda (Markworth) Roesener.

Oscar attended elementary school at Zion Lutheran Church where he was a life-long member. He graduated from New Palestine High School. Oscar loved farming and was employed at Ace Cabinet Company, his brother’s family business.

He married Verna Schwier, June 29, 1946, who survives; along with their daughter, Myra Roesener (Robert Jr.) Vaughn; grandchildren, Jaimie Vaughn (Jesse) Proctor and Kelsey Vaughn (Elliot) Motley; great-grandson, Caleb Proctor; sister, Anita Trautmann; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by their daughter, Deborah Lee Roesener;  brother, Frederick Roesener; and grandson Leif Allen.

Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. Thursday Jan. 3, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church with funeral service immediately following at 3 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Hancock Regional Hospice.
