Norman D. Mize, 77 of Indianapolis and part time resident of Clermont, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at his home. He was born April 18, 1935, in Kennet, Mo., to Roy and Martha (Bohanan) Mize.
Mr. Mize attended Charlottesville High School and was a 1954 graduate of Greenfield High School. He was the owner of Greenfield Furniture for several years. He retired from the Engineering Department of Naval Avionics in the late 1980’s and spent his retirement enjoying his children and grandchildren. Norman enjoyed dining out with his close friends and especially appreciated his church affiliations.
Norman is survived by his mother, Martha Mize of Greenfield; sons, Daniel (Sue) Mize and Stephen (Margaret) Mize all of Greenfield; daughters, Norma (James)Halcomb of Greenfield and Mary (Steven) Shepherd of New Palestine; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy L. Mize; brother, Charles P. Mize; and great-grandson Derrick Mize.
Services for Mr. Mize will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield with burial to follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
