Mr. Bernard (Ben) Mueller, 92, of Sparta, Tenn., passed away Oct. 17, 2012, at Life Care of Sparta. He has been a resident of Sparta since 2008, where he and wife Betty, moved from Indiana. He was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Hamilton, Ohio. He was the son of Bernhard Mueller and Lena Becker Mueller.

Mr. Mueller served his country in the Army and Air Force during World War II. He was a founding Rotarian of the club at his long time residence of Greenfield and a Paul Harris fellow. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the American Legion and active throughout his life in his community. He was the founder of Mueller Body Shop in 1958, on the Main Street of Greenfield.

He is survived by his three children, son, Richard Mueller of Fortville; daughters, Cheryle Daunhauer of Holland, Ind. and Mischelle Ferrell of Sparta, Tenn.; six grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Ilene Mueller; grand daugh­ter, Paige Lane Gray; one brother; and two sisters.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, from 2- 5 p.m at Thurman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Hunter Cove Cemetery, Allons, Tenn. in Overton County on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. with an Honor Guard service.

Pallbearers will be Richard Mueller, Andrew Mueller, Matthew Mueller, Gene Mattingly, Payton Mattingly and Louis Ferrell.
