Albert Howard Axum

Albert Howard Axum, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully Oct. 14, 2012, with his family by his side. He was born June 9, 1921, a son to Robert C. and Ruth Hoover Axum.

Albert was a devoted Christian and member of Shiloh Christian Church.  He deeply loved his wife, Patsy, of 65 years, who preceded him in death. Along with the love of his dear wife and the Lord, he dearly loved his family.

Al was a proud American who served his county in the Air Force in World War II. After his discharge from the service, Al was employed at Creative Packaging and finished with 39 years of employment with Eli Lilly and Company.

Al enjoyed traveling with his wife along with wintering in Florida. He loved to fish and provided conversation with friends and strangers.

Al is survived by a daughter, Judy Harris of Indianapolis; and two sons, Randy (Joyce) Axum of Greenfield and Kerry (Barb) Axum of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services 2 p.m. Oct. 19, 2012, in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m.
