Jerry J. “Jake” Hudson, 76, of Fortville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at the Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Fortville to the late Jack W. and Carrie (Huston) Hudson.
Jake worked in the Engineering Dept. at Delco-Remy in Anderson for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by wife, Peggy J. (Willits) (Kendrick) Hudson whom he married on Jan. 22, 2002; daughter, Renee (Don) Edwards of Fortville; stepchildren, Rick (Rosie) Kendrick, and Randy (Lori) Kendrick, all of Fortville; grandchildren, Trey and Hunter Edwards; stepgrandchildren, Robby, Reggie, Cody, and Casey Kendrick; brother, Ernie (Judy) Hudson of Ft. Collins, Colo.; sisters, Jane Antibus of Bloomfield, and Jabet Arnett of Fortville.
Jake was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly (Lakin) Hudson in 1994.
Friends may call on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A celebration of Jake’s life will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
