Carolyn Hallgarth Newby, 70, of Shelbyville passed away on Friday July 20, 2012. Carolyn was born in Rushville, Ind. on January 1, 1942, to the late Edgar and Charlotte (Harper) Hankins. She lived her early life in Rush County and Fountaintown.
She married Carrol Hallgarth in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1988, she later married Kenneth Foreman in 1991 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Carolyn married Larry Newby on November 11, 2011 and he survives.
Carolyn Worked for Freudenberg-NOK in Morristown for 31 years retiring in 2004. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 70 in Shelbyville, and a member of Moose Lodge 4048.
Carolyn leaves behind her husband Larry Newby of Shelbyville; two sons, Greg (Linda) Hallgarth of Shelby County, Jason Hallgarth of Milroy; one step son, Jeff Newby of Frankton; one daughter, Ylonda Hallgarth of Shelbyville; four step daughters, Michelle McAllister and Sherry Lemon both of Muncie, Kendra Minnich of Shelbyville, and Connie Medford of Texas; a brother, Rick Hankins of Rushville; several grand and step grandchildren and several great grand and step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and two husbands Carolyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Phil and Richard, one daughter, Christina and a son Bruce.
Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 at Moster Mortuary. Services will be at 11 a.m on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville, Ind. Burial will follow at Fountaintown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock Memorial Hospital.
