Dorothy Alice (Dickmann Delaplane) Quillman
Dorothy Alice (Dickmann Delaplane) Quillman, passed Monday, July 16, 2012, from complications arising after surgery. She was born at home in Greenfield, on March 12, 1927, to George F. and Thelma (Bussell) Dickmann.
Dorothy was a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing and served veterans during her nursing career as an RN at the Veterans Hospital in Marion, IN. She was an active member and volunteer at First United Methodist Church and enjoyed meeting new people through the Newcomers Club.
Surviving her are four sons; Jeff (Kathy) Delaplane of Bloomington, Mike (Julie) Delaplane of Belvidere, Ill., Tom (Sue) Delaplane of Divide, Colo., and Phil (Pam) Delaplane of San Antonio; brother, Charles Dickmann; sister, Bess Quillman; 10 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husbands, Robert D. Delaplane and Carl J. Quillman; brothers, Eugene, John, and George.
A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 219 East Fourth St. Bloomington, In. 47408.
Memorial gifts may be made to the church in Dorothy’s honor. Cremation Society of Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
