Walter Edward “Ed” Ramsey, 92 years, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Golden Living Center Brandywine, Greenfield. He was born Dec. 18, 1919, in Sheridan, Ind., to the late Walter T. and Amanda (Suit) Ramsey.

Ed was a graduate of Maxwell High School, retired from International Harvester in 1981 and served in the Army during WW II. He was a member of Greenfield American Legion 119, Greenfield V.F.W. and the U.A.W. Local 226, Indianapolis.

He is survived by his son, Jerry (Karen) Ramsey of Greenfield; daughters, Pamela L. Anderson of Bellevue, NE; Nancy M. Ramsey of Fountaintown; brother, Leon Ramsey of Greenfield; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great -grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; wife, Mary (Shelton) Ramsey; sons, Walter “Butch” Ramsey, Paul T. Ramsey; and sister Delores “Dee” Kemper.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday July 8, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday July 9, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield with military graveside rites provided by the Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard.
