Phillip R. Moos, 80, of Mooresville, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 29, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 2, 1932, in Zionsville, to the late Carl A. and Nora L. (Baker) Moos.

Phil was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 440 retiring in 1994, the Mooresville American Legion Post 103 and Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville and had served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954.

He is survived by wife Doris I. (True) Moos, whom he married September 4, 1952; sons, Dennis R. (Pam) Moos of Fortville and Gary A. Moos of Southport; brothers, William “Bill” Moos of Clearwater, FL and Carl “Butch” Moos of Columbus, OH; sisters, Anna M. Literal of Fortville; Barbara L. (Jim) Silvey of Oaklandon and Judy M. (Jim) Tubbs of McCordsville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special daughter-in-law Dawn Moos of Noblesville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phil was preceded in death by daughter Debra L. Dowling; son, Gregory D. Moos and brother Harold E. Moos.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. A celebration of Phil’s life will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial with Military Graveside Rites will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
