Dorothy Elnora Conaway, 94, of Greenfield, passed away on March 11, 2012, at Golden Living Center-Brandywine. Born on May 7, 1917, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Hawk) Spilker.
Dorothy graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and attended IU in Bloomington. She married George R. Conaway on June 28, 1941, and was self-employed as an insurance agent. Additionally, she worked as an administrative assistant at a real estate firm.
Dorothy also enjoyed antiques and ran an antique shop out of her home. She was a great person who was full of life. She loved her family and was always laughing and staying positive. Dorothy also loved refinishing furniture.
Surviving her are her daughter, Sharon (Bill) Haste of Greenfield; grandchildren, Stacy (Kevin) Heavilon of Greenwood, Tricia (Tom) Feister of Brownsburg, and Christopher (Anne) Dunlavy of Indianapolis; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and brother, Gordon Spilker.
