James A. Peacock, age 71, of Greenfield, passed away on March 1, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on May 3, 1940, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Benjamin P. and Florence (Hickey) Peacock. James graduated from Greenfield High School in 1958, and married Carolyn Sue Merritt on Aug. 17, 1962. He retired from Western Electric after 18 years and had also farmed during that time.

 James was a past member of the Greenfield Lions Club. He was also a member of the Gold Wing Rider Organization and the Hoosier Trikers.

 Surviving him are his son, Michael Peacock of Greenfield, daughters, Anna (Jeff) Grizzell of Carthage and Kelly (Dave) Hoffman of Indianapolis; brother, Earl Peacock of Holden, Miss.; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Carolyn Sue Peacock on Feb. 11, 2010; parents; daughter, Tracy Guzman; and brother, Charles Peacock.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of the service. Pastor Paul Enyart will be officiating and burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
