Allene Humphrey, 84, Paoli, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at her
daughter's home following and extended illness. She was born on Dec. 29, 1927, in Lancaster, Ky. to William and Minerva (Lamb) Crank.
She is survived by 9 children, Juanita Brummitt of Paoli, Carol (Sherman) Bullard of Paoli, Joetta (Larry) Harper of Indianapolis, Thomas (Norma) Humphrey of Bloomington, Lanny (Karen) Humphrey of Indianapolis, Wanda (Duane) Land of Paoli, Rita (Ronnie) Callahan of Paoli, Darryl (Marsha) Humphrey of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., and Darla (Larry) Lee of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; sister, Nannie Griffith of Newport, Ky.; Thirty-Six grandchildren; Fifty-One great-grandchildren; and Twenty Two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Humphrey; and son, Randall Humphrey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at the funeral home with Brother Don Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
