Jerry W. “J.W.” Moore, 69, of New Palestine, passed away at home on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, following a courageous battle with throat cancer. He was born on Aug. 15, 1942, the son of Howard and Agnes Moore.
Jerry is a 1960 Triton Central High School graduate. He spent several years as a successful, residential, contractor and real estate broker. He invested his life in his family and community.
Jerry is survived by his partner of 20 years, Darlene Owens; daughter, Michelle (Jim) Kelly; sons, Joshua (Miranda) Mann; James (Jessica) Owens, Jerry (Jessica) Moore; grandchildren, Meghan, Nicholas, Nathaniel and Micah Kelly, Gavin and Brody Mann, Sophia, Maia, and Celia Owens, Collin and Jerry Wayne Moore, III.
Viewing will be open to all friends and family from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, with a small service to follow at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main Street. There will be a gathering of friends at the Around The Corner Pub Annex at noon on Friday, Feb.10, 2012.
Due to Jerry’s love for children and months on dialysis, the family asks that donations be made to the Riley Children’s Hospital Nephrology Unit to benefit needy families.
