Gertraud (Kandler) Kent, age 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on April 24, 1937 in Straubing, Germany to Joseph and Anna (Trettermann) Kandler.
She married Jerry K. Kent on July 9, 1962, in Straubing, Germany and was a homemaker during her life.
Surviving Gertraud are her daughter, Glenda (Mike) Karnes of Greenfield; granddaughter, Amanda N. Greene; grandson, Michael Karnes III; sister, Renate Wesp of Straubing, Germany; and niece, Kirstin Buha.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers; and son-in-law, Billy J. Greene.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. The funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012. Paul Enyart will be officiating.
