Carey Glen Martin, age 60, of Greenfield, passed away on Jan. 4, 2012, in Indianapolis. Born on May 21, 1951, in St. Louis, Mich., he was the son of Glen Carey and Doris June (Gould) Martin.

Carey married Donna on July 4, 1992, in Indianapolis. He worked as a truck driver for ten years at Speedy Trucking and most recently worked for Quickway Trucking out of Shelbyville. Carey enjoyed firearms and was an avid Harley rider. He attended the Sturgis Rally from 1985-2011. Carey also enjoyed construction and home improvement and was a member of the Local Teamsters Union in Indianapolis. Additionally, Carey was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War.

 Surviving him are his wife, Donna Martin of Greenfield; children, Victor G. Martin, Michelle L. (Jay) Gitchell, and Christy J. (Jeremy) Williams, all of Mich.; mother, Doris June Martin of St. Louis, Mich.; brother, Victor A. (Christy) Martin of Mich.; and grandchildren, Kaylea, Danielle, Terry, and Thomas, all of Mich.

 Preceding him in death was his father.

 Visitation will take place at noon on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. A Memorial Service in memory of Carey will begin at 1 p.m. at the mortuary. The United States Army will perform a flag presentation. Immediately following services, a reception will be held in Carey’s honor at the American Legion Post #119, 275 Center St., Greenfield, IN., 46140.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Humane Society at 214 E. Main Street, Greenfield, IN. 46140.
