Robert Nelson, age 88, of Greenfield, Ind., went to be with the Lord on Dec. 3, 2011. He was born on March 11, 1923, in Shirley, Ind., the son of the late Corda Nelson Pitts and Palmer Nelson.
He was a member of the Kennard Christian Church and retired from Delco Remy in Anderson, Ind.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Nelson; three children, Pamela (Robert) Neal of Knightstown, Barbara (Richard) Glidden of Greenwood, Rob (Linda) Nelson of Indianapolis; six stepchildren, Karen (Phil) Hinchman, Connie (Rick) Hoy, Donna Kendall, Lorie (Lee) Lutes, Steve Kendall and Denise (Jim) Compliment; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Gabbard, Scott Neal, Shane Glidden, Ryan Glidden; 15 step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, 18 step great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his wives, Thelma Nelson and Juanita Nelson; sisters, Virginia Stohler, Marjorie Lowe, and Ruth Plummer; step daughter, Jeannine Oldham; mother-in-law; three brothers- in –law; and two nephews.
Friends may call at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Condo and Son Funeral Home with Marion McFarland and David Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
