Marlene E. Plavka, age 63, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on Aug. 31, 1948, in Unionport, Ohio, she was the daughter of George E. and Gladys G. (Jones) Davis. Marlene married George P. Plavka on Sept. 1, 1962, and worked at Freudenberg NOK in Morristown for 26 years before retiring in 2001. She loved dancing, bowling, and attending her grandchildren’s events.
Surviving her are her husband, George P. Plavka of Greenfield; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Mike Coffin of Greenfield; brother, Donald Davis of Greenfield; grandchildren, Brandon Plavka, George and Steven Coffin, and Brittany Snyder; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Cathy Plavka; sister, Anna Mae Richards; and brother-in-law, Homer Richards.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary. Chaplain Russ Jarvis will be officiating and burial will take place at Philadelphia Cemetery.
