Lewis A. Johnson, age 73, of Carthage, died on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born on Jan. 5, 1938, in Russell County, Ky. to the late Ruel and Bertha (McClendon) Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Johnson of Carthage; three daughters, Donna Oakes of Charlottesville, Candice Westrum of Coeu D Lane, Idaho, Chantel Herring of Greenfield; son, Tim Johnson of Idaho; brothers, James Johnson of Rushville, Randall Johnson of Greenfield; sisters, Rachel Johnson of Greenfield, Sue Johnson Greenfield, Doris Masters of Wilkinson, Edna Ryan of Greenfield; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son, Michael Johnson; three brothers, Bud Johnson, Lowell Johnson, Robert Johnson; and two sisters, Irene Johnson, and Betty Bauges.
There will be no visitation. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, with Gary Sickle officiating.
