Elsie Mae Lobb, age 83, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospice in Greenfield. Born on Feb. 22, 1928, in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of Robert G. and Gertie (Loyall) Perkins. She graduated from Hodgenville High School in Hodgenville, Ky in 1944, and attended business school. She married Kenneth L. Lobb on Dec. 21, 1957, and worked as a homemaker.

 Elsie was a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was very involved in church life and held many roles such as WMU director/teacher, choir member, librarian, Sunday School teacher, interpreter for the deaf, and VBS director. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and made many of her own clothes for years.

Surviving her are her husband, Kenneth Lobb of Greenfield; children, Mike Philby of Elizabethtown, Ky., Kevin (Rebecca) Lobb of New Palestine, and Kim (Eric) Eidson of Sunol, Calif.; sister, Patsy (Wendell) Forrest of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Angie Evans, Tracy Jackson, Cory Sowder, Andy Sowder, Sean Lobb, and Kendra Lobb; and great-grandchild, Cayden Michael Evans.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Garnet Perkins.

Visitation took place from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church in Greenfield. Funeral services followed at 6 p.m. and Pastor Roger Kinion officiated. Additional visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Ky. Services will follow at 3 p.m. and burial will take place at Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Memorial Scholarship Fund, at 1450 W. Main St., Greenfield, IN, 46140.
