Linda L. Harter, age 61, of New Palestine, passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in New Palestine. Born on August 24, 1950, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Thomas and Betsy (Kane) Pataky.
She graduated from Norwin High School in North Huntingdon, Pa., in 1968, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Texas College in 1980. Linda worked as a project manager for the Department of Housing and Urban Development from1991 until the present. She was a member of Community Christian Church in New Palestine.
Surviving her are her son, Jeremy N. (Melissa) Harter of Avon; daughter, Lori R. Harter of Evansville; brothers, Michael Pataky, Mark Pataky, and Steve Pataky of Pa.; one niece; one nephew; granddaughter, Bailey Harter-Martin; and former husband. Joseph L. Harter, Jr. of Indianapolis.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Todd Beale will be officiating. Burial will take place at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
