Jasper N. Silcox, age 89, a resident of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born on Jan. 7, 1922, in Indianapolis, to the late Richard Silcox & Lenna (Anderson) Silcox.

He retired from Xerox in 1983 and Wal-Mart in 2006. He loved baseball, racing and was just an overall sports fan. He also loved to do cross-word puzzles. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a church elder.

He is survived by his wife, Uldine (Dunkerson) Silcox of Greenfield; son, Richard M. (Betty) Silcox of Greenfield; daughter, Jean (Lonnie) Dugan of Indianapolis; step-son, Robert G. (Rita) Robbins of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 11 great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and two step great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marietta; son, Larry; and two sisters, Olive Neutzman and Helen Riegle.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
