Louis Steven "Steve" McDaniel, 62, Anderson, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness. He was born on May 16, 1949, in Evansville, Ind. to Harold and Juanita (Terrell) McDaniel.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1967 to 1970.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Woodward) McDaniel; one son, Michael (wife, Robin) McDaniel of DeMotte; his mother, Juanita (Terrell) McDaniel of Lapel; his father, Harold (wife, Anita) McDaniel of Anderson; a step-son, Bill (wife, Sherry) Denny of Greenfield; one step-daughter, Kimberly (husband, Gilbert) Boles of Anderson; three brothers, James (wife, Bonnie) Reynolds of Jamestown, Ky., Joe (wife, Margie) McDaniel of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Paul McDaniel of Anderson; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Lloyd White officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will conduct military graveside rites.
