Rick Whetsel, age 51, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on April 11, 1960, in Noblesville, he was the son of Neal Whetsel and Sharon (Krauthaus) Lynch.

He was a construction worker for many years for various companies.

Surviving him are his father and step-mother, Neal and Leslie Whetsel of Fortville; mother, Sharon Lynch of Kirklin; daughter, Angela Whetsel of Anderson; brothers, Richard L. and Larry E.(Pam) Whetsel both of Noblesville; step-brother, James (Amber) Anderson of Ingalls; step-sister, N. Jill (Matthew) Fletcher of Fortville; three grandchildren, Cora, Ryker, and Kezia Chapin; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Joan Ballard of Fla., Carolyn (Phillip) Rapp of Pendleton, Jean LeGault of Pendleton, Martha Wallace of Fortville, Sandy Mann of Kirklin, and Elizabeth Riley of Pendleton; and uncles, Kenneth (Phyllis) Whetsel of Ingalls, and Richard Whetsel of Pendleton.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Russell “Mark” and Ruth Whetsel, Fred and Georgia Krauthaus; and a brother, Mark A. Whetsel.

 Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Scott will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
