Otis D. Amos, age 79, died at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield on June 21, 2011. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind. on Oct. 16, 1931 to Otis and Elizabeth (Curry) Amos.
He served in the US Marines during the Korean War from January through December of 1953.
He is survived by his 4 children: Joann (Jeff) McMillan, Andrea (Lee) Throneburg, Kathy (Tim) Limbrock and Mike Amos (girlfriend Mary Sosnoskie) all of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
Otis married the love of his life, Linda Lou Seward on Sept. 6, 1951 in Hancock County. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 sisters, Norma Slinker and Barbara Burdine.
Services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Steve Cunningham officiating. Friends may call from Noon until 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 266 honor guard.
Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donors choice.
