Betty R. Jackson, age 85, of Anderson, passed away April 29, 2011, at the Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield after an extended illness. She was born on Feb. 17, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Hurst) Hutchens, in Marshall, Ill., and had lived in the Anderson area most of her life.
She was a homemaker. Betty was a former member of the Anderson Lady Elk’s.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Jo; son-in-law, Rick Reed of Greenfield; grandson, Jason McCord and his fiance’, Lori Little of Bloomington; great grandson, Adrian McCord of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Jean Hutchens of Anderson; several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Bob and Mary Ann Welborn of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Grissom; husband, Robert Jackson; and four brothers, Lawrence Hutchens, Raymond Hutchens, Ralph Hutchens and Dale Hutchens.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, with Chaplain Joel Brown officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
