Charles A. “Charlie” Ford, age 86, of Fortville, died on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born on April 24, 1924 in Beech Grove, he was the son of Alfred D. and Orpha A. (Hendryx) Ford.
Surviving him are his wife, Barbara A. Ford of Fortville; children, Toni Carlisle of Indianapolis, Debra D. Gilpin of Austin, TX, Cheryl Lewis of Anderson, Terri D. (Jimmie) Hommel of Indianapolis, Rick (Lynette) Whittington of Coal City, Ind., and Raymond “Skip” Charles Ford of Indianapolis; brother, Elmer D. (Betty) Ford of New Whiteland; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, at Erlewein Mortuary, 124 E. Staat Street, Fortville. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 15, at 1 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
