Zbignief John Fiega, 61, of Knightstown passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at his home following a brief illness. He was born March 12, 1950 in Caracas, Venezuela, the son of the late Jan and Cecylia Fiega.
He retired from Acrux Securities at Keihin in Greenfield. He previously worked at RCA/BMG in Indianapolis for over 35 years. He was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church and was involved with the Knightstown Optimist Little League and Babe Ruth. He also served on the Knightstown Library Board for many years. His life revolved around his family. His hobbies included fly fishing, golf, and he was an avid cook.
Survivors include his wife, Diane (Sisson) Fiega, whom he married July 16, 1977; four sons, Chris (Marie) Fiega of Indianapolis; Andrew Fiega of Carmel; Joseph Fiega of Indianapolis; Anthony Fiega of Knightstown. He was expecting his first grandchild later this year. He will also be missed by his chocolate Lab, Moose.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Services will be at the Hinsey-Brown Knightstown Chapel at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011, with Pastor Ken Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
