“Mom, she won’t share with me!”….. “Dad, he took my stuff!” ….. “He called me a name!” …. “She took the last candy!”

I love baseball and now with a few rule changes, the games are faster and, I think, even more exciting. I knew it would be fruitless, but I was hoping to entice Mary Ellen to enjoy the sport so we could watch a few games together. So, one day in the car, I attempted to pique her interest.

Every Friday one of us called our nephew Luke or he called us.

It is common knowledge that Washington, D.C. in the summer is a brick oven, a solid mass of heat-reflecting concrete. You sizzle like a slab of beef slowly turning over an open flame.

That rich Nigerian prince fellow must have found someone to take all his money because he hasn’t emailed me in ages.

I did it finally! I got brave enough to cut the cord… that is cable for TV. I have no doubt that many of you, especially younger people, did this a long time ago. It might be an age thing, but not going to dwell on that. Why cut it now? Well, why not a long time ago? The bill keeps creeping up until it’s taken on a life of its own. It has become a big-ticket item on the budget that doesn’t need to be.

What was I thinking? I’ve been so happy lately, retired and enjoying my free time, pleased with the fun I’ve had over the years in the media. And then I went and did the dumbest thing. I experimented with an Artificial Intelligence app on my phone. I began with a few pressing questions in my life like how do I get rid of the racoon that is destroying our deck? And will the trash people take my old lawnmower? Can Donald Trump be president while in the slammer?

It’s officially gardening season!
