Forum to help parents speak to kids about body safety

HANCOCK COUNTY — Officials with Hancock4kids is hosting a community forum for adults only about how to talk with your children about body safety. The forum will be 6-7:30 p.m. May 1 at the Greenfield Educational Service Center, 700N Broadway, Greenfield. A panel discussion will be followed by a Q and A. Those adults interested in attending should reach out to Hancock4kids.com so officials can get a headcount number.

Rock stars within: NPHS students to perform guitar drama

“Airness (High School Edition)” will be performed this weekend by New Palestine High School’s Theatre Department. “Airness” is about a group of air guitar competitors hoping to qualify for the National Air Guitar Contest and maybe the world contest. Lesson learned: everything needed to rock is already inside. The soundtrack includes REO Speedwagon, Guns N Roses, Billy Idol, the Ramones, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and more. Cast includes sophomores Derek Bilyou, Joe Bauer and Jude Gibbs; juniors Lily Westrate, Jaxon Brittsan, Rachel Santelik and Phoenix Maggard; and seniors Ellie Strong, Charlie Hall, Anne Bauer, Lindsay Cox, Kaylee Holtzclaw and Chase Archer. Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at New Palestine High School’s auditorium, 4485 S. Victory Drive, New Palestine. Tickets are $5 at the door.
