To the Editor:
Regarding the article about Hancock County Director of Homeland Security, Misty Moore:
What does it say about Hancock County:
-That John Jessup, an elected commissioner, repeatedly harassed a county official?
-That other elected officials knew about Jessup’s harassment and alcohol issues and failed to address them when reported?
-That elected officials would treat the Director of Homeland Security position AND the highly qualified person in that position so disrespectfully and glibly?
-That it took Jessup’s out-of-state arrest for assault before local complaints were taken seriously?
-That John Jessup is STILL on the ballot for our November election and has been drawing a paycheck despite his inability to attend meetings?
Misty Moore is a smart, experienced, professional who ensures our safety while we live, work, and play in Hancock County. What are we saying to families and businesses who are thinking of moving here when we elect people who fail to protect women and fail to protect important county positions?
