Outdoor worship night coming
UPDATE: The community worship night in Greenfield has been moved indoors, 6 p.m. Sunday at Brandywine Community Church.
GREENFIELD — Various churches are promoting Community Worship Night at the Depot, set for 6 p.m. Sunday at Depot Street Park, 251 Depot St. Those who go are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The service includes music, prayer and Communion. Some song sheets will be available with lyrics, and also possibly a QR code that would bring them up on a person’s device.
People who can walk an extra block or two are encouraged to park farther out, so those with mobility issues can find parking close to the park.
Homecoming includes gospel trio
GREENFIELD — Homecoming Sunday is Sunday at Curry’s Chapel Church, 3488 N. CR 375E.
Worship is at 10 a.m. and will feature special music throughout the service by Victorious Trio.
Guest speaker is the Rev. Debbie Beason, who went out from Curry’s to pastor other churches.
There will be a pitch-in meal after the service with meats provided. Everyone is welcome.
Trinity Park plans Mission Celebration
GREENFIELD — Mission Celebration is an annual event at Trinity Park Church to highlight ministry happening locally and globally. Anyone interested in hearing the speakers though is welcome to attend.
Services are at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church, 207 W. Park Ave.
Keynote speaker is John Muehleisen, vice president of global strategy and training for World Gospel Mission in Marion. Indiana Wesleyan University Praise Team will share music in both services.
His daughter, Holly Muehleisen, ministers in Japan and will visit the children’s ministry classes.
Linda Ostewig — executive director of Recovery Café, The Landing Place and Talitha Koum Women’s Recovery House — will speak to adult Faith Groups in both the 9 and 10:30 a.m. time slots.
A fellowship time with refreshments starts at 10 a.m.
Lunch follows the second service. John Muehleisen is a ventriloquist, and during lunch his puppet Lazarus will make an appearance.
Christian music takes Riley Festival stage
GREENFIELD — The Riley Festival main stage will feature Christian music on Oct. 6, the last day of the festival.
Tracey Rhodes will play guitar and sing at 11 a.m., followed at noon by Steadfast, a group from Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Singer and guitarist Troy Richardson takes the stage at 1 p.m.; By Faith Quartet follows at 2.
The stage in the North Street Living Alley tent, which will be set up at 118 W. Main St. in downtown Greenfield.

Bible read-aloud welcomes readers
CUMBERLAND — The monthly community Bible read-aloud series continues at Heather Hills Baptist Church with the book of Exodus (chapters 29-40). The book deals with Moses and the Israelites’ exit from Egypt. These chapters deal with priestly practices and the tabernacle.
The next reading will take place at noon Monday. Past Bible read-alouds have typically lasted about an hour.
Church leaders say anyone is welcome to come join in the reading, or simply listen. The church is located at 1421 N. German Church Road, Indianapolis.

Preschool offers German dinner
GREENFIELD — Faith Lutheran Preschool will have its annual Germanfest Dinner and Silent Auction from 4-7:30 p.m. Oct. 5. The church and preschool campus is at 200 W. McKenzie Road.
Bible 101 course coming
GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel Church will offer Bible Basics 101. The course begins at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and continues for 10 Wednesdays. It will cover an overview of the Bible and basics of Christianity.
There is a $20 fee for textbook and course materials.
Registering in advance is recommended so textbook/materials are available when the
class starts. While the textbook/materials can be shared, it is recommended to have one per person.

Mt. Lebanon to serve pulled pork
GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon Community Church will serve a pulled pork dinner from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 3447 S. State Road 9.
The menu will include pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, green beans, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, dessert and beverage.
A free-will offering will be accepted for missions and special projects.

GREENFIELD — 4 The Light Quartet of New Palestine will share music in a service at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 2901 W. CR 200N.
Group discusses current events
GREENFIELD — A current events small group gathers at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Curry’s Chapel Church, 3488 N. CR 375E.
The group discusses events of the times and how they affect us. This is not a Bible study, but an open discussion about the events of the day. The group meets on the fourth Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
German Dinner coming to Zion
NEW PALESTINE — Zion Lutheran Church’s 48th annual German dinner is set for 4-7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church, 6513 W. CR 300S.
The traditional German dinner includes sauerbraten, pork and kraut, brats, ham, potato pancakes, green beans, potato salad, applesauce and desserts.
