Leslie Ann (Paul) Hicks, age 41, of McCordsville, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis on November 9, 1981 to Pamela (Chandler) and William “Bill” Paul. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 2000, where she was active in golf and dance. In 2004, Leslie received her bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Ball State University.

For over 18 years, she was the art teacher at Northeastern Elementary in Fountain City. Former coworkers say that Leslie made art magical for her students. She was a member of Centerville Christian Church and the Marauder Baseball Club. Leslie enjoyed volunteering with churches and helping with vacation bible school. In her free time, she liked spending time outdoors and gardening. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her children, Scotty and Anna. She loved watching them play sports and grow. Her favorite place to vacation was Hilton Head Island and the beach.

Leslie is survived by her children, Scotty and Anna Hicks of McCordsville; furbaby, Beau; parents, Pam and Bill Paul; sisters, Kristen (John) Wininger of McCordsville and Jessica (Chase) Page of Greenfield; nephew and nieces, Graham Wininger, Hadley Wininger, Emma Page and baby Charlie Page; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Richard and Margaret Paul; maternal grandparents, Mildred and George Chandler; uncle, John Paul; dog, Gabby.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with viewing 2 hours prior to the service.
