Editor’s note: The Daily Reporter is featuring local recipes and the stories behind them. As a lot of Hancock County families get ready for a busy 4-H fair season, Karri Amory of Greenfield shares a quick recipe for slow cooker cranberry chicken. Amory is a member of the Kindness Rocks Extension Homemakers Club.
Cranberry Chicken
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 can whole cranberry sauce
1 bottle red French dressing
Two to four chicken breasts
Place chicken breasts in slow cooker and pour ingredients over the top. Cook on low for 5-6 hours depending on how many breasts are used, until chicken is cooked through. Shred and stir, and serve over rice.
“We like it because it tastes like a Chinese meal but is fast and easy,” Amory writes.
