GREENFIELD
Norman Dale Smith, age 95, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born in Shelbyville on February 9, 1928 to Mahlon Smith and Pearl (Sherman) Smith and attended Shelbyville High School.
He worked in properties and security at CMG Worldwide and retired in 2010. During retirement, Norm worked at Erlewein Mortuary as a funeral assistant for many years. He was a past member at First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as music director, Sunday school teacher and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Norm is survived by his son, Jeffery (Diana) Smith of Shelbyville; 3 stepchildren; grandsons, Jason and Justin; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of 50 years, Gladys I. Smith; second wife, Jan Rura; siblings, Morris Smith, James Lambert, Lester Smith, Hazel Hill and Russel Lambert.
A private family graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory in Greenfield.
