Why are you running for office?

I’m running for mayor because I love the city of Greenfield and I have worked hard for the residents over my 21 years as a city employee. I want to see the city grow in the right way and I have a vision to see Greenfield thrive and prosper. We have many challenges to face and I know with my leadership we will make Greenfield safer and more successful than ever.

How are you qualified?

I’m qualified to be the next mayor because I have the knowledge of how local government runs and I’ve seen up close how decisions are made and why, over the last nearly nine years of being a department head. I currently supervise three city departments where I prepare and manage three separate budgets along with overseeing millions of dollars in city assets.

What are the most pressing issues facing Greenfield?

We have many issues facing Greenfield but I feel our infrastructure is number 1. We need to continue to build streets to ease traffic congestion on State Road 9. We also need to continue to update our water and sewer lines as well as have the staffing and equipment for our public safety departments. Under my leadership Greenfield will stay one of the safest cities in Indiana as we grow.

Do you support increasing the general tax rate for the Greenfield Fire Protection Territory? Why or why not?

As a conservative Republican I believe tax increases should be a very last resort. I would look into other ways to boost the assessed value of the city first, which would lead to more tax revenue for fire protection. If there was no other way around an increase I would support it to keep our service going for the safety of our residents, but I would make sure to keep the public informed on the decisions being made and why.
